Beaches Negril

Premium
213 rooms · 90 min from MBJ
Why it fits
  • Kids' club covers 0–17 — your 9, 6-year-olds are set.
  • The nursery covers your 2-year-old — rare in Jamaica.
The catch

You hate long transfers — 90 minutes from MBJ, through Lucea; it's a haul with jet-lagged kids.

Read the full verdict

Beaches Negril is the family flagship of the Sandals group: a 213-room property on Seven Mile Beach (5 of 5 for swimming), a kids' program that genuinely starts at age 0 (the only nursery in the matrix), a real teens' space, and on-site scuba included. Nine restaurants, five pools, snorkeling from shore at 4 of 5. The catch is the transfer — 90 minutes from MBJ. Worth it for the beach; the beach is the point. Rain most afternoons around 4 PM, brief and warm.

Puerto Vallarta
88/100

Now Amber Puerto Vallarta

Mid
498 rooms · 15 min from PVR
Why it fits

Read the full verdict

Now Amber Puerto Vallarta is the 498-room mid-tier family pick: a club covering 3–12s, a teens' lounge, ten restaurants, and a 15-minute transfer from PVR that is the shortest in the matrix. The beach is 3 of 5 — swimmable but with surf, so families with under-4s lean pool. Five pools, swim-up rooms, 24-hour snacks. It shares a beach with its adults-only sister, Secrets, next door. The value is the location and the pace — close, lively, and competent.

US Virgin Islands

Read the full verdict

Hyatt Ziva Cancún is the 1,200-room pick for groups that can't agree: the club takes 3-year-olds, teens get a real lounge, grandparents get a quiet pool, and the cove blocks the open-ocean waves so the swim is calm. Twelve restaurants (four need reservations — book the hibachi on day one). Twenty minutes from CUN — you'll be at the pool before your luggage finds your room. It is premium-tier and it is loud; that's the trade. Skip it if you want quiet.

The club runs extra-paid, which is the honest ding. It's two tiers over mid — worth it only if this is The Trip, the one the family remembers. The transfer is a reasonable 50 minutes from CUN.

How it works

Four steps from ages to a shortlist

01

Tell us your crew

Real ages, not "2 kids." A 2-year-old and a 12-year-old need different resorts; the matcher checks every club's age range.

02

Set your must-haves

Swim-up rooms, on-site scuba, a nursery, 24-hour snacks. Must-haves filter hard; everything else scores softly.

03

We rank the fit

Five axes — kids'-club age fit, vibe, tier, transfer minutes, beach. Every card shows its math and its tradeoffs.

04

You check live rates

Every card hands you to Kayak with your dates and party filled in. We don't book; we don't hold anything back.

What it is

A hand-built matrix of 17 resorts, fact-checked quarterly against public resort fact sheets. Every page carries the date we checked. Rankings come from your party — ages, must-haves, transfer tolerance — never from who paid.

What it isn't

Not a booking site. Not a travel agency. We don't sell rooms, hold inventory, or take a dime from resorts. Exactly one commercial partner — Kayak — and every resort links out the same way.

All-inclusive matching questions

Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free, no account — the link holds your whole trip. Run the matcher, copy the pass link, send it to the group chat. Nothing expires because there's nothing stored.
Do you take commissions from resorts?
No. No resort can pay to move up any list here — the order comes from your party profile (ages, must-haves, transfer tolerance). We have exactly one commercial partner, Kayak, and every resort links out the same way. That's disclosed beside every rate button.
Why doesn't the site show prices?
Tiers, not prices — nightly rates move with seasons, holidays, and room category, so a number on our page would be a lie within a week. We show the tier (value/mid/premium/luxury) and an as-of-stamped band; the live price is Kayak's job. That's what the coral buttons are for.
How current is the resort information?
Every fact is hand-checked quarterly against public resort fact sheets, and every page carries an AsOfStamp with the audit month. Rebrands and closures get caught at the audit — a resort we haven't re-verified since its rebrand says so on its page, honestly.
Which destinations need no passport?
Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands — both US territories, no passport required for US citizens. That's why they get their own filter chip and a green "no passport" flag in the region picker. The other 10 regions in the matrix all need passports.
Why do you ask for kids' ages and not just counts?
A 2-year-old and a 12-year-old eliminate different halves of the matrix. The kids' club minimums start at 3, 4, or 5 depending on the resort, and a 2-year-old at a min-3 club isn't "close enough" — that's a nursery question. The matcher checks every club's real age range against your real ages.
Can I share my shortlist with the group chat?
Yes — the Copy pass link button after your results gives you a link that holds your whole trip: party, region, tier, must-haves, dates. No account, no expiry, no sign-up. Send it; whoever opens it sees the same shortlist re-scored against the current matrix.
